The Jimmies Make Super Fun Music {Review + Giveaway}

jimmies I'm totally in love with the kid-friendly CD, Make Your Own Someday, by The Jimmies. I know it's supposed to be music for the kiddos, but it is so fun, I pop in the disc for my own pleasure, too. The songs are totally random (which I love), creative and not cheesy at all. Yay!

These musicians are super professional at their trade (for example, according to their bios on The Jimmies website, one of them is in Stomp, one records voices for cartoons and stuff, and one teaches music to kids) and their CD is award winning (the Oppenheim "Best Toy of 2009," Parents' Choice Award Winner, and #1 on Sirius/XM Radio's KidsPlace). Lead singer Ashley has a great Gwen Stefani-ish voice, only in addition to fab singing, she does tons of fun, different voices and sings in songs that expose kids a variety of genres (punkish, blues, reggae, polka, latin and more).

Some songs are just plain silly (like The Peanut Butter Polka), some are practical (Do The Elephant) and of course, I'm in love with the amazing bilingual song about animals (Spanimals--I have a video of it posted on my language blog). Speaking of videos, The Jimmies also have a new DVD coming out soon-- I can't wait to get a look at that. Every song The Jimmies sing is unique and upbeat, and will get the whole family singing along in no time.

If you visit The Jimmies' website, you can all get a taste of their music and purchase their CD, but one lucky GGH reader will win a copy of Make Your Own Someday!
