Day 30: Working together with a purpose

DSC_0021 This is Day 30 of 31 Days of Intentional Community. Thanks for reading along!

There are so many ways we can work together with a common purpose, and almost always, when we are in one of these situations, we are experiencing really authentic relationships. We see each other's real personalities in the face of stress, passion, deadlines, and common goals.

I've experienced this type of community in a variety of ways but since I'm writing this post on a blog, it only seemed fitting to discuss it in terms of this particular community. It's been a real blessing to be able to walk alongside other writers to work together to produce content that encourages readers-- whether that's about intentional, simple living, creativity, in the kitchen, homeschooling, motherhood, anything really that we're passionate about.

And now I'm continuing to experience that as a writer for Simple Mom and now One Fun Mom. We've been able to support each other as well, offering guest posts for each other, promoting each other's work and bouncing ideas off each other. Plus we all speak the same blogger language, understanding phrases that draw blank stares from those not involved in this type of work. ;)

This happens in my other blogging groups (like FB groups I'm a part of), as well, and I'm even seeing glimpses of it on Instagram, which can also really function as a virtual community.

The blogging community has grown me and encouraged me in a lot of ways, and despite minimal (if any) face-to-face time, these friends have transformed from simply names on a screen to living kindred spirits across the miles.

Speaking of the blogging community... I have a guest post up myself today! If you've been missing ice cream here on Gidget Goes Home lately, have no fear! I have an amazingly delicious recipe for horchata ice cream over at Just Making Noise. Yum! I'm drooling just thinking about it.

Where have you experienced deep community through shared interests or common goals?
